B-17 Flying Fortress Among Weekend Highlights

Come fly the Fortress! This weekend, the historic and restored B-17 Flying Fortress will be at the Leesburg Executive Airport for guided tours ... and even flights. The plane, which is part of the Salute to Veterans Tour, is a living link to aviation history and World War II. The aircraft serves as an example of the American heavy bomber that helped turn the tide of battle in World War II. Fly a mission back in time and feel the might of this magnificent aircraft, just as those brave young men did more than 50 years ago. Tours run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. 19th Century Base Ball Day Among Weekend Highlights

Experience baseball the old-fashioned way! The Loudoun Preservation Society is hosting a family-friendly event where three Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League teams will play a doubleheader. During the games, the players will follow the rules and customs of the 1860s. Gloves, helmets and catching gear are not used and uniforms and equipment are authentic replicas of the mid-1860s. Loudoun Chorale's 20th Anniversary Celebration Among Weekend's Highlights

Here’s a list of fun-filled weekend events in area.

Take in the quality choral music of community-based Loudoun Chorale at its 20th Anniversary celebration. The volunteer organization features residents from Loudoun County and beyond. The Chorale has performed at venues all over the county, as well as the Washington National Cathedral. The Chorale will perform Faure Requiem, accompanied by chamber ensemble, for the concert. They will sing Gabriel Faure's Requiem and other select choral pieces.
