LEA President: 'Supervisors Shortchanged The Schools Again'

The Loudoun Education Association signaled its audience of e-mail alert recipients Tuesday that it plans to continue the fight to reverse previous decisions by the Loudoun County School Board and the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors that require school employees to take two furlough days in November. The wording of the letter appears to place blame mostly with the board of supervisors, which denied a request earlier this month to release surplus funds that could have eliminated the need for the furlough. "The Supervisors shortchanged the schools again," LEA president Sandy Sullivan wrote in her letter.
