An Ashburn man faces felony hit-and-run charges after allegedly striking a bicyclist in Ashburn Village Sunday morning, according to the Virginia State Police. State Trooper C.J. Ihara responded to reports of a hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist at the intersection of Ashburn Village Boulevard and Gala Circle shortly before 10 a.m. March 3. John M. Washington, 56, of Leesburg, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, according to a VSP report. Witnesses provided information about the vehicle that fled the scene that investigators used to identify the owner. Officer Ihara took the suspect, Shayne W. Miller-Westfield, 22, of Ashburn, into custody at his place of employment in Leesburg without incident. …

The driver of a silver sedan reportedly struck a teen near Stone Bridge High School.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning that it has identified the person believed to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a Feb. 15 hit-and-run accident near Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn. The vehicle was turning right onto Claiborne Parkway from Portsmouth Boulevard when it struck a high school student, 15, who was attempted to cross Claiborne. The teenager was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses reported that the driver stopped and spoke with bystanders before leaving the scene. Investigators seek help identifying silver sedan that struck teen near the high school in Ashburn; bystanders may have spoken with driver.
The driver of a small silver sedan struck a 15-year-old boy at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Portsmouth Boulevard near Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn and left the scene. The site also is near the Belmont Greene community. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance in identifying and locating the driver of the car. The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 as the teen attempted to cross Claiborne from the Portsmouth side of the street (Breezyhill Drive is on the other side), according to an LCSO report. Ashburn bicyclist hit Tuesday night suffered minor injuries.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a suspect they say hit a bicyclist Tuesday night neara Junction Plaza before fleeing the scene. According to an LCSO report, a 31-year-old Ashburn man was riding his bicycle northbound on Railstop Terrace to cross Ashburn Farm Parkway when he was hit by a vehicle turning out of Junction Plaza. LCSO reports say the vehicle stopped momentarily before leaving the scene. The victim walked home before going to a nearby hospital, police say, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Loudoun County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run accident involving a lawn care worker around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, near the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Ashburn Farm Parkway. The 22-year-old victim, of Luray, Va., was in the grassy area along the north side of Ashburn Farm Parkway just east of Claiborne when an older model, black four-door sedan traveling west on Ashburn Farm, struck him, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Eight months after a vehicle struck a woman attempting to cross Gloucester Parkway at Ashburn Ponds Boulevard, a 20-year-old Ashburn woman has charged with felony hit and run, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators allege that Brittany A. Harris was driving the dark-color four-door that struck the 55-year-old victim around 7:20 p.m. May 12, 2011, and then left the scene. The victim was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for serious injuries following the accident, and has since been released. Witness statements and evidence at the scene helped LCSO investigators ID a possible make and model on the vehicle. The investigation eventually led to the driver’s identity. UPDATE Dec. 22 Investigators have released a short video of the vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run. UPDATE Dec. 15 9:30 a.m. Investigators confirmed that the make and model of the minivan: Toyota Sienna. Investigators with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a burgundy minivan and its driver after a hit-and-run accident near South Cottage and South Fox roads in Sterling. Around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, the minivan, possibly a Toyota, struck an adult male riding a Yamaha Nouvo motorcycle, according to a report from the LCSO. Investigators are looking for a dark red Saturn Aura after incident sent pedestrian to hospital.
Loudoun County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking for a car involved in a hit-and-run accident along Rt. 15 just south of Lucketts Saturday that sent a pedestrian to the hospital. The 28-year-old Lucketts man was walking north along Rt. 15 north of Montresor Road just before 4 a.m. Jan. 22 when a southbound vehicle struck him, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. The victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Sheriff’s investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a 2007 or 2008 dark red or maroon Saturn Aura with a missing passenger side mirror.
