Bethany Decker Still Missing After 2 Years

The Ashburn mother's case recently was featured on Investigation Discovery's 'Disappeared.'

It's been two years since Bethany Ann Decker disappeared, leaving a young child and a heartbroken mother desperate for her return. "Our family has an empty place that was filled with Bethany's laughter," said Kim Nelson, Bethany's mother. Decker was last seen at her Ashburn apartment on Orchard Grass Terrace Jan. 29, 2011. Her car was found in that apartment's parking lot. She was due to give birth to her second child in August 2011. Nelson jumped into action after her daughter went missing, creating a Facebook fan page and group with the help of those searching for the man who killed Morgan Harrington and raped a Fairfax City woman. She worked with producers of Disappeared on the Investigation Discovery channel to get Decker's name in the…

ID’s ‘Disappeared’ on Decker Re-Airs Dec. 2

Investigators hope the show prompts someone to come forward with information about the missing Ashburn mother.

Bethany Anne Decker has been missing since Jan. 29, 2011. Her family and investigators hope an episode of Investigation Discovery channel’s Disappeared focusing on the Ashburn mother will lead to new information in the case. The show first aired Nov. 26, but is set to rerun at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and again at 2 a.m. Dec. 3. Investigators in the case are seeking anyone with information about Decker in the days before and after her disappearance. She was last seen at her Ashburn apartment by her then-boyfriend. The Disappeared episode clears up many questions about why there appeared to be two men in Decker’s life. Both men have been questioned in the case. No charges have been filed, nor has a crime been discovered. She was five months pregnant …

'Disappeared' to Air Show on Missing Mother Bethany Decker

Investigation Discovery will air a show on missing mother Bethany Decker.

Update: The show was very informative. If you missed it, try catching a rerun. I also wanted to mention that nothing was stated about who her son was staying/living with while she was with Ronald. (other than her mother watching him) I don't see how they would allow the son to be around such an abusive man.   more ›

Ashburn Mother Bethany Decker Remains Missing One Year Later

The young mother and student disappeared after last being seen at her Westwind Farms apartment.

A somber anniversary passes today, one year after Ashburn mother and college student Bethany Anne Decker was last seen. Decker, now 22, lived in the Westwind Farms apartment complex near the Loudoun County Parkway/Dulles Greenway interchange with a man described as her boyfriend. She had spent the day earlier with family in Columbia, MD, before driving back to the apartment where, according to an affidavit in support of a search warrant, her boyfriend was the last person known to have seen her. Her disappearance was neither confirmed by family nor reported to authorities until Feb. 19. That’s the day her grandparents drove to her apartment and discovered her car in the lot, but not their granddaughter. Investigators have interviewed Decker…

I continue to be shocked at the lack of attention this case has received. I think the ashburn community has dropped the ball on this one. Where are the volunteer searches, missing person posters, candle vigils, and all around area buzz that are normally occur when a member (pregnant no less) of a community goes missing? Its time for lcso to get their heads out of the sand and tell us where they …   more ›

Ashburn mother remains missing and was last seen on Jan. 29; investigators release new photos.

Four Months Later, Ashburn Woman Still Missing

Investigators continue to seek clues in case of young mother, college student.

For the past three and half months, investigators have worked long hours, occasionally releasing new photos, to determine the whereabouts of Bethany Anne Decker, an Ashburn mother and college student who has a second child on the way. Hope remains that the young woman will one day call her young son or her mother and say she’s alright, but such hopes fades with each passing day. She was approximately five months pregnant when she disappeared, meaning she should have just about reached full term by now. Neither the cell phone known to be hers nor any of her credit cards have been used since she was last seen Jan. 29. Investigators have not released specific details about Decker’s cell phone or credit cards, such as where and when they were …

Deputies Search Terrain Near Bethany Decker's Apartment

Investigators seek new leads in case of Ashburn woman missing since January.

Nearly two months after Bethany Anne Decker disappeared, seemingly without a trace, investigators seeking leads about the pregnant mother’s whereabouts conducted yet another search of an area near the Ashburn apartment where she lived with a man described as her boyfriend. Sheriff Stephen O. Simpson, who was at the scene March 24, said he continues to hold out hope that Decker is just taking some time to herself, but acknowledged that such optimism fades with each passing day. “We’re hoping, obviously, to find her alive and well someplace,” he said, pointing out that it’s not even clear whether Decker left of her own volition. “Technically, this is a missing person case at this time,” Simpson said. “We don’t have evidence of foul play, but…

I like the way he refers to that Nancy grace moment. You all know Nifong Nancy over on HLN. First she is saying that it should be fairly easy for the husband to get a hardship order to get back to Virginia. When he does come back by his own voilition she act like oh my it takes an act from the President to get these guys back here. Nifong Nancy is so wishy - washy it is pathetic. And then you …   more ›
