Santa arrived in Leesburg on a mild December Saturday morning.  Hundreds of onlookers enjoyed a festive holiday parade, which lasted about 45 minutes. PHOTOS: Stone Bridge Homecoming Parade

The Bulldogs knocked out the McLean Highlanders 49-7 Friday; students prepare for dance Saturday.

The annual Stone Bridge Homecoming Parade worked its way through the community surrounding the school, drawing a large crowd to sidewalks of Belmont Greene Friday afternoon. A little later, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs varsity football team pummeled the McLean Highlanders 49-7. Saturday night the school will have its homecoming dance. Stone Bridge, Briar Woods Celebrate Homecoming

Girls Scouts from the local Daisy Troop 1412 and Brownie Troop 1430 were heading to the staging area for the Stone Bridge High School Homecoming Parade. The entire community, it seems, participates or lines the streets for the parade each year. Today's parade starts later this afternoon, starting in Belmont Greene. Briar Woods is also about to kick off its homecoming parade in equally enthusiastic Brambleton community. Please add your photos of the parade here. Ashburn's Fab Falcons Invade London

Briar Woods Band performs in London New Year's Day Parade.

UPDATE: A very brief video was posted on YouTube of the Briar Woods marching band's London performance. Imagine what it would be like to perform for the queen of England and millions of television viewers around the world. Ninety members of the Briar Woods High School Falcon Regiment marching band from Ashburn, VA, will do just that on New Year's Day. The Falcons marching band will have the honor of performing in one of the world's largest New Year's celebrations at the prestigious 25th Anniversary London Parade and Gala Concert Series an invitation-only event held in England during New Year's week. Ashburn Teens to Perform in Macy's Parade

Nine Studio Bleu Dancers Head to NYC for Thanksgiving Event

If watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is part of your holiday tradition, you might see a few familiar faces on the TV this Thanksgiving morning. Nine dancers from Ashburn's Studio Bleu Dance Center will participate in the opening performance of the parade, as part of the Spirit of America Dance team. The dancers performing in the parade are: Brittany Davidson, 17, of  Ashburn; Emma Day, 15, of Ashburn;  Nicki Dubishar, 15, of Herndon; Rachel Harrison, 17, of Leesburg; Lauren Hathaway, 14, of Ashburn; Emma Heiden, 14, of Vienna, VA; Madison Homan, 16, of Ashburn; Maddie Presley-Wolff, 14, of Ashburn; and Kathryne Rinaldo, 14, of Ashburn.
