The Washington Redskins Quarterback had a bite at Clyde’s Monday.
Hotshot Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had dinner at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in Broadlands Monday as he nurses his knee back to health. The young pigskin tosser known as RGIII has made an impact on Ashburn, not just with because his team’s headquarters, Redskins Park, is here, but also because of his apparent connection to the community. After the 2011 Heisman trophy winner appeared at a Broad Run High School football game in October that doubled as breast cancer awareness event, seniors at the school made a Twitter-infused pitch to lure him to their graduation ceremony this year. [Editor’s note: Time to check the status of that request.] All eyes are certain to be on RGIII when he takes the field this year after …

[Broad Run High School provided this article.] Broad Run High School’s Class of 2013 hit the Twittosphere this week in an attempt to lure Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to the school’s graduation ceremony this spring. Twitter users just might come across the message: “Spartans Caught GRIFFINFever! Won’t you B R graduationspeaker?” Hundreds of seniors, along with faculty and staff, have been “Griffining” in the stands of Broad Run’s stadium, the principal’s office, library, school store, gymnasium, cafeteria and on top of the hallway lockers, according to a message from the school. RGIII left a huge impression on the Broad Run community in October when he made a surprise appearance at the Pink’d game sponsored by Broad …

The NFL team updated fans with the statement about the quarterback’s knee surgery Wednesday.
Dr. James R. Andrews, of the Andrew’s Institute Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, issued the following update on injured Washington Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III, commonly called RGIII. "Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a redo of his previous ACL reconstruction,” Andrews said in a press release. “We expect a full recovery and it is everybody's hope and belief that due to Robert's high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season. The goal of his treatment is to give him the best opportunity for a long professional career." Griffin had entered the Redskins playoff game Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks with a previously injured knee and left the game …

Star rookie NFL quarterback shows up at Broad Run football game to support breast cancer awareness event.
Joyful pandemonium reigned supreme at Broad Run High School Friday night, when Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III made an unannounced visit to support the school's "Pink'd" breast cancer awareness campaign, and seemingly spurred the Spartans to fourteen unanswered third quarter points and an important 34-20 win over Patriot. Griffin coyly tweeted his possible plans to crash the Broad Run event earlier in the evening with the innocuous-sounding question "What quarter is the Pink'd game at broad run high school in?" For those in the twitosphere and beyond, the question may have seemed a bit random for a superstar rookie quarterback. But behind the scenes, a spirited social media campaign by Broad Run students to invite RGIII to their "…

RGIII and stout defense may mean big things for the 'Skins this season.
There's something magical about the beginning of the NFL season. With a league built on parity, exciting offseason maneuvers by many teams via trades, free agency and the draft, it's a time of year when fans of even the lowliest NFL franchises can dream big and convince themselves — if only for a few weeks — that this could in fact be THEIR YEAR. The Washington Redskins open the 2012 season on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the vaunted offensive attack of the New Orleans Saints. Like it or not, the Redskins have fallen into the ranks of the aforementioned lowliest NFL franchises. This is a fact that yours truly, a self-professed homer for the Redskins, has had to accept in the face of mounting evidence that confirms the team has been bad for, …

Redskins hope the highly talented quaterback can bring the team succes on and off the field.
If you're wondering why everyone in your office is sporting braids and insisting on being called by their initials this morning, you can thank one person—Robert Griffin III. Last night the Washington Redskins selected Griffin—more commonly known as RGIII—with the second overall pick in the NFL draft, culminating a months long lovefest with the highly talented Heisman winning quarterback out of Baylor University. With the pick, the Redskins and their fans hope to end a generation’s worth of mediocre play at football's most important position, and bring an infusion of excitement to a team seemingly incapable of escaping the gravitational pull of its black hole of futility. RGIII's physical gifts are a big reason for the buzz he has generated…

Too many athletes let their popularity go to their head and their common sense out the window and forget they are a role model for young people -from on and off the field. RGIII hasn't let that happen to himself. If he is available and agrees to be the graduation speaker, I feel he will be able to deliver a very meaningful speech these young people will understand and know he is trying to start …   more ›
