There's a new burger place in town. This month, Lansdowne became home to the second Kraze Burgers location in the country..  The Korean-based company sold U.S. franchise rights to the company’s U.S. CEO Richard Macdowell. Macdowell opened the first Kraze restaurant in Bethesda last November, followed by the Lansdowne location, which opened Aug. 10.  Each location targets a different type of demographic, Lansdowne’s great community, neighborhood, family-friendly feel was a big draw for Kraze burgers, the company said. “There is something for everyone in the family at Kraze burgers,” VP of Business Development Grace Lee siad. I love Zinga...I think it is very clean and the management is incredibly helpful. We asked about a candy that they had put out previously and they actually went in the back and got it for us! They also acted on the suggestion to add more seating and including whip cream as a topping. You can't ask for better customer service....it I can feed all 3 kids for under $6!   more ›

Anthony’s Opens in Ashburn

Brothers open at Ashburn Village after success with Purcellville restaurant.

Anthony’s Italian Mediterranean Restaurant recently expanded and opened a new restaurant in Ashburn Village Shopping Center last month. Brothers Tony Keya and Shafi Naimi run the family-owned eatery, which first opened in Purcellville more than four years ago, which coincided with a sluggish economy. Even so, the restaurant succeeded. “We love Ashburn and we have always wanted to open a restaurant here," Keya said. Naimi said the key to their success centers on “fresh, homemade ingredients, homemade sauces, breads and pastas, our low prices and of course excellent customer service.” The restaurant offers outdoor patio seating and schedules live music every Thursday night. “We have always had restaurants in our family for many years,"Keya …

I am glad the food was good. I am surprised by the attitude you encountered. We have been there quite often and never had a bad server. We have taken friends and family there and they now all go there on occasion and you are the first to bring up dawdling service. Too bad!   more ›

Reader's Choice Winner

Readers Choose Parallel as Best Mother’s Day Brunch Spot

If they’re not already booked before you call, see if the Broadlands wine bistro fits the bill for brunch with mom.

Parallel Wine Bistro celebrated its two-year anniversary May 2 and now has won the Readers’ Choice poll for place to grab brunch for Mother’s Day. With more than 50 percent of the 393 votes cast, Parallel bested Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm as well as two popular Leesburg restaurants. Patrons haven enjoyed the Broadlands restaurant’s outdoor seating, live music and Sunday brunches, and this Sunday should be special. Parallel owner Jason Bursey is a familiar face in Ashburn, having previously been a co-owner of the Ashburn Wine Shop. His vision for what a restaurant should be sounds perfect for Mother’s Day. “Food is more about relationships around a table — sharing and camaraderie,” he said. Mom might even like one of the restaurant’s key …

Readers’ Choice: Mother’s Day Brunch

Which place would you recommend for mom’s special day?

This week's Readers' Choice asks for the best place to go for Mother’s Day brunch. This week I’ve included two Leesburg restaurants that are longtime county favorites. This poll will last a little longer than our other recent polls. Voting ends at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 9. Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and your reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch site. If we missed your favorite, please give them a shout out in the comments below. Know of a great restaurant in Leesburg, Herndon or another Patch location for brunch? Head over there and vote in their Readers' Choice polls too! …

POLL: Best Chinese Food in Ashburn

Where do you go/who do you call when you crave Chinese food?

This week we’re asking readers to weigh in on their favorite place to get Chinese food in Ashburn. We’re keeping it narrowed to Chinese food, so no Thai, Indian or Japanese restaurants are included, although all are well represented in the community. So whether you’re heading out, or ordering take out, which restaurant gets your call when you’re hankering fried rice or Kung Pao chicken? Voting is open until 9 a.m. on Friday, April 20. Because this poll below is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and user reviews in the Patch listings directory. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.  If we missed your favorite, give them a …

Blue Ridge Grill is Sure to Please

Here's our pick for this week's place to eat in Ashburn.

You could sit around and wait for local restaurant to send their menus to you, or you could check back here each week and find out what's around town. The Blue Ridge Grill in Brambleton offers a decent range of food at prices lower than you might expect for what you get. The menu focuses on American cuisine, including seafood, steaks, burgers, salads and sandwiches. The Cheeseburger Royale has been a favorite since the first Blue Ridge Grill opened in Leesburg. But the lobster bisque and grilled salmon are also excellent. Prices are moderate and portions are large. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Check the listing for hours.
