Sheriff’s Quarterly Meeting for University Station April 8

Residents are encouraged to attend to learn about traffic, crime and public safety initiatives in the area.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled an April 8 public safety meeting for the University Station area (see map). The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Ashburn Library on Hay Road. The LCSO holds quarterly public safety meetings in each its four service areas in the county. All residents, homeowners associations, community groups, business owners and town representatives are invited to attend. A Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Captain who represents the service area and Sheriff Mike Chapman or a member of this leadership team will be in attendance. LCSO University Station Meeting for Residents June 28

Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman will be at the Stone Bridge meeting next Thursday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has planned a public safety meeting for the University Station area June 28. The quarterly meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at Stone Bridge High School—is part of the agency’s work to engage the public, take advantage of existing resources and provide better service to residents. The LCSO hosts quarterly meetings in each of the four service areas of the county. All residents, homeowners associations, community groups and town representatives are invited to attend. Discussion items include recent crime and crime trends in the area, traffic safety concerns and other public safety issues.  Local LCSO captains lead the meetings. Sheriff Mike Chapman and Lt. Col. Crime Report: Bomb Threat, Car Jumps Creek

The latest reports from the Loudoun Sheriff's University Station also include a pedestrian struck while lying in the street.

Investigators believe a medical episode caused a man to lose control of his 2005 Jeep Cherokee as he headed eastbound on Route 7 around 1:52 p.m. Aug. 7. The victim, 63, veered off the road, jumped a creek, struck a fence came to rest on top of a car parked at a storage facility off Russell Branch Parkway. Emergency personnel airlifted the driver to Inova Fairfax Hospital where was listed in good condition. Other significant incidents reported by the Loudoun Sheriff's University Station:

Russell Branch Race Leads to Accident, DUI Charge

July 31 incident sent one driver to hospital with serious injuries, while another received a reckless charge.

Two men appear to have been racing when they became involved in a car accident July 31 that sent the driver and passenger from one car to the hospital, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s University Station. Robert Harrison Jr. was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries after the 2007 Ford Mustang GT he was driving crashed through a safety fence and rolled over. Harrison had been racing 25-year-old Julian Brooks who was driving a Dodge Challenger SRT-8, when the two vehicles struck one another as they approached a dead end. Ashburn Man Assaulted by Late-Night Line Cutters

Line Cutters Assault Ashburn Man at Restaurant Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, a 49-year-old Ashburn man confronted two males and a female who had cut in line ahead of him at a fast food restaurant in Ashburn Shopping Plaza. The victim was then struck and pulled to the ground before the female suspect assaulted him. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance tape. Crime Report: Late Afternoon Assualt Sends One Teen to the Hospital

Recent incidents as reported by the Sheriff's University Station.

Late Wednesday afternoon, July 13, deputies responded to a report of a large group of teenagers on Cox Mills Court. It was determined two subjects were involved in a physical assault and a 15-year-old male had to be taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. Crime Report: Deputies Witness Crash on Sycolin

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Sheriff's University Station.

Two Loudoun County Sheriff's deputies traveling east on Sycolin Road around 3:40 p.m. July 12 witnessed a westbound Nissan Altima cross the centerline. Deputy Ethan Martin, took evasive action to avoid a collision. Martin and Deputy James Romba saw that the driver of the Altima was slumped over the steering wheel and not in control of her vehicle. The Altima continued to travel off of the roadway and down an embankment. When the deputies arrived at the vehicle, the driver appeared to be having a medical emergency, all four doors were locked and the windows were up. A resident arrived with a hammer to break the window and then Romba put the car in park and turned it off before providing the driver with medical assistance until rescue …

Crime Report: Party Leads to Vehicle Theft

After hosting a party June 30, a resident on Hay Road discovered a vehicle, two computers, a video game system and cash missing after guests left. Crime Report: Charges Follow Sycolin Road/Ashburn Farm Parkway Accident

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Loudoun Sheriff's University Station.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies charged one driver in a June 22 two-vehicle crash at Belmont Ridge Road’s intersection with Sycolin Road/Ashburn Farm Parkway, causing a road closure for several hours. Around 6:30 p.m., Berryville resident Judith Johnson Massey, 60, attempted to turn left in a 2004 Ford Explorer from Belmont Ridge onto Sycolin westbound after the traffic signal turned yellow, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. Graham Winner Parker, 25, of Leesburg entered the intersection in a 2009 BMW just as the signal turned from green to yellow, according to the report, which stated that several witnesses stopped to offer accounts of the accident. Crime Report: Stranger Reported in Home Near Ashburn Park

Check out this week's update from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office University Station.

A resident along the 43600 block of Preddy Court, near Ashburn Park, reported that a stranger entered their home shortly before 11 p.m. June 16. The resident heard a noise and, upon investigation, spotted an unknown male standing in the foyer. The suspect – described as a white male, 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 135 pounds – fled back through the front door. He was wearing a black hat, a gray or white hoodie, blue jeans and a light colored pair of sneakers. There were no signs of forced entry.
