ReplyJanie, I was assuming most of the cars passing on 66 as I ride the Metro were coming from Loudoun or points West since there is no where for them to conveniently get on the Metro. You may be right though however do you really think the builders will build any fewer homes if the Metro does not go through? Unfortunately I think they will build until there is no on left to buy. The builders don't care how we get to and from work. I don't think we should pay for the entire project and I don't have a problem contributing toward the better good. Some of us want it, others rely on it. Hard to believe but some folks don't have cars and only take the Metro.

Hey Joe, write as you like. And bless you all the more. I apprecaite you opinion. I just don't understand why every debate has to be so heated. Whether you agree with an item or not, there is no need for all this hotility. Open conversations and freedom to speak your mind are wonderful... but why must it always be so heated? Especially when it comes to anything political, we need to hear all opinions and get the most and best info so that informed decisions can be made. I am even more open to your thoughts if you don't feel the need to insult others to make yours more valid. Is that your motive? I am no prophet, just someone that likes to read about current affairs.

ReplyWhy is every conversation surronding anything political so heated. Thanks to the editor for a good view point. I for one will pay a little extra for the greater good of our comunity (our comutters) especially if it lightens the trafic load. Stay calm and learn to listen as well as talk to others especially the ones that have to make this difficult decision.

ReplyHow much of a tax increase are we looking at $.03 per hundred? that is what, about $100-150 per person in Loudoun?
I for one am willing to pay to have a lighter traffic load on our roads. -

No scare tactic, it's a reality. There was an accident on the leeburg bi-pass earlier this year that halted movement for half a day. It is scarry that we rely on 7, 15, 50 and 28 to move 300,000 plus comutters each day. Hurricanes and other natural disasters happen often. I hope we never see the day we have to do a large scale evacuation of Loudoun. Just look at a holiday weekend to see how that will go trafficwise. God Bless you and all of us. Let's all get together and find a way to make our county better (like the metro) instead of mocking and insulting one another.

ReplyAnything that would help releive our crowded roads and ease traffic flow should be considered. We are very close to DC and if there is ever a reason to evacuate many of our loved ones will perish simple bc of the fact we are not willing to find a way to make things better. The existing infrastructure simply cannot ahndle the number of folk that live here- our friends and neighbors. I for one feel terrible that it takes as long as it does to cross Loudoun County to where ever your destination may be (Fairfax, DC, or otherwise) Lets all kick in and work together as AMERICANS to make this work. The need and the demand are there whether you personally agree with it or not.

ReplyThe bridge should have been built years ago. It will help the flow of traffic all around the area, especially in an out of Ashburn. It will also greatly lighten the load of travelers on 15 North which should be at least 6 lanes but thanks to the rich folks that live along it and receive tax breaks for it being a senic biway that hasn't happened yet. LET US NOT forget the Loudoun ONE is underway and we need more infrastructure to handle the added traffic.

Go Metro. I am so glad that the BOS made a decision that will help traffic and commuters. I, for one, am willing to pay a few more cents each year in taxes to help it get off the ground.
