For 16 years I served on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and was deeply involved in dealing with the consequences of explosive growth which the County has experienced and which continues today. The fundamental issues and problems faced during those years remain: how to provide sufficient public facilities and services to satisfy an exploding population while keeping property taxes affordable.
I have created a new, fully searchable web site, www.jimburton.org, to document the lessons learned, both positive and negative, from my perspective, during that tumultuous time in the hope that future leaders of the County and the general public will learn from the experiences of the past.
From time to time, as warranted, I will add an Update on Important Issues to the site. For those interested in such things, I have also added an Excel spread sheet detailing campaign contributions to the current supervisors' campaigns and another spread sheet showing PAC donations to those campaigns. Both are fully searchable. See http://www.jimburton.org/campaign-finance-reports.html
