A portion of Route 7 was closed in both directions for several hours Monday, according to Loudoun County Officials.
Downed power lines following a traffic crash led to the closure. Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police were forced to redirect traffic off of the busy route near Sterling.
Eastbound Route 7 was closed at Route 28 and westbound Route 7 was closed at Countryside Road.

The first notice went out about lane closures at 11:20 a.m. All lanes had reopened as of 5:10 p.m.
