Registration Deadline Nears for Junior Redskins Cheerleader Program

Time is running out for aspiring dancers and cheerleaders ages 5-17 to enroll in the Junior Washington Redskins Cheerleader program.

The program, taught by Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, teaches girls the fundamentals of dance, showmanship and performance. Girls also learn dance routines, improve their ballet techniques, refine their jazz skills and enhance their gymnastics stunts.

Registration is available online at www.redskins.com/cheerleaders, at FedExField from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, or at from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Redskins Park in Ashburn. Space is limited.

“The Junior Redskins Junior Cheerleader program provides girls the opportunity to learn dance and cheer techniques from some of the most prominent women in the industry,” said Washington Redskins Cheerleading Director Stephanie Jojokian, adding that the program provides the girls “with positive female role models and a national stage to showcase their talents.”

The program consists of three months of instruction, rehearsals and performances. Each Junior Redskins Cheerleader receives an official 2013 Junior Redskins Cheerleader T-shirt, 2013 routine music CD, an autographed Washington Redskins Cheerleader squad photo and a highlight DVD of their performances.

Participants are also extended the opportunity to perform with the Redskins Cheerleaders at parades and community events, as well as at a Washington Redskins halftime show in front of more than 85,000 fans, weather and schedule permitting.

Registration Information

Junior cheerleaders will be fitted for uniforms during registration, and also can shop for other junior Redskins Cheerleaders merchandise. Registration dates are as follows:

• Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to Noon at FedExField in Landover, MD (South Field Tunnel)
• Sunday, Aug. 18, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Redskins Park in Ashburn, VA (Annex Building)
