Ashburn Restaurant Park Hosts Fall Festival

Eateries gear up for crowds as the community prepares for autumn.

When a festival sprang up suddenly at the Ashburn Restaurant Park on Waxpool Road in June, it surprised Ashburn residents, but there will be no surprises when kicks off Oct. 12.

“It’s a great way to promote the center,” said property manager Melody Visser. “We want to let people know that the center is alive and offers a variety of cuisine.”

The restaurateurs of Ashburn Restaurant Park are happy to have the exposure. owner, Azmi Zarou praised landlord Terry Pao.

Visser, however, is optimistic about the center’s future now that newcomers Pizza Go Round, , and Pollo Factory are all open.

“I’m not concerned,” Visser said of the restaurant park’s future. “All of the restaurants are great: great food, great concepts, and and are established in the center.”

The restaurant park is the only center of its kind in Ashburn completely devoted to dining. Located on Waxpool Road, the center has good visibility, but poor access. But while patrons of the restaurants have complained about getting in and out, especially during rush hour, Visser believes that people will drive to any restaurant that they enjoy, regardless of its location.

And the last festival proved to be quite a success, with plenty of Ashburn residents crowding in for the fun.

The landlord has once again hired Cole Rides to operate the festival. Admission is free, and tickets can be purchased for rides and play games. Standard fair food will be available from vendors, but fairgoers are encouraged to check out all of goodies dished up by the restaurants.

The festival runs from Oct. 12-15. Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. For more information and a free ride ticket go to www.colerides.com
