Thai Deelish Cuisine and Noodles opens in Ashburn

A new restaurant has opened in Ashburn's Junction Plaza and it is just as its name suggests—Thai Deelish.

Specializing in authentic Thai cuisine, Thai Deelish promises to offer dishes that other restaurants do not. Think authentic noodles, tamarind curry sauce and green tea with rice.

Owner Ann Chevass knew that she wanted to open a business as soon as she stepped foot on American soil. For the past 15 years she has worked in Thai restaurants, garnering her managerial, entrepreneurial and culinary skills. Now she has finally achieved her dream of opening her own restaurant.

Thai Deelish opened on Oct. 23, a date that coincided with Thailand's King Rama V's birthday. The restaurant has already established a repeat customer base with their dine in, carry out and delivery options.

"We want people to come because of the food," said Chevass.

The atmosphere is small, intimate and family-oriented, without a heavy emphasis on the décor. Care is taken in the preparation of the food and authenticity of the menu, something that Chevass is proud of.

"It's all about showing people what true Thai food is all about," she said.

Chefs Aor and Pa Chevass are from Thailand and look forward to sharing their dishes with the residents of Ashburn and beyond. They have created signature dishes that best represent Thai cuisine and showcase their specialties.

Thai cuisine has been influenced for centuries by Indian, Chinese and Lao cuisine. Thai chefs adjust the flavors and preparation to reflect their own style, often including the prominent use of curry, noodles, soy and chili pepper in the cooking. And Thai restaurants have fared well in the United States, which is clear by the growing number of them in small towns and large metropolitan areas.

Chevass is happy that the opportunity to open Thai Deelish in its current location came along.

"It's a good location and I had great luck in the space becoming available," she said.

Thai Deelish is located at 43330 Junction Plaza, Suite 188, Ashburn, VA 20147. It's open Monday through Thursday, 11:30am-10:00pm; Friday and Saturday, 11:30am-10:30pm; and Sunday, 11:30am-10:00pm.
